Meet East Guilbeau
Dr. Easton "East" Guilbeau, DPT is a pediatric physical therapist, statewide volunteer, and Democratic organizer from South Louisiana. East is currently running for President of the Young Democrats of Louisiana (YDL). Raised on the West bank by a single mom, East grew up relying on the public programs that kept his family afloat. His experiences growing up shaped his belief that the government must care for all people with dignity.
A graduate of Southeastern Louisiana University and LSU Health Sciences Center, East has served as President of the School of Allied Health Professions, Deputy Chief of Staff and Instagram Lead for YDL. He also founded the YDL Healthcare Caucus. East has volunteered for many Democratic campaigns across the state and presented nationally on pediatric and disability research. He currently works with children and families every day, and he finds joy in helping them heal, grow, and thrive.
East is running for President of the Young Democrats of Louisiana because he believes YDL can be a powerful movement that uplifts young leaders, amplifies marginalized voices, and raises the bar for what politics can look like in Louisiana. His record shows he can build systems that function, coalitions that last, and organizations that grow. He's ready to put that experience to work to help take YDL to the next level.
